Assoc. Prof. Dr. Erman Karakuş earned his Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from İzmir Institute of Technology (IZTECH) in 2009. He subsequently pursued his Master’s studies under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Levent Artok at IZTECH. In 2017, he obtained his PhD degree from IZTECH under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Mustafa Emrullahoğlu. The same year, he joined the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK), National Metrology Institute (UME), as chief researcher. His research interests cover various aspects of organic, supramolecular and materials chemistry. His current research primarily focuses on developing novel optical and electrochemical smart probes for detecting and monitoring of environmentally and biologically significant species.
