Prof. Dr. Cihangir Tanyeli received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees from the Department of Chemistry at Middle East Technical University (METU) in 1982 and 1984, respectively. He completed his Ph.D. studies in Organic Chemistry at Middle East Technical University (METU) in 1988. he started working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry at METU in 1990 . He worked as a postdoctoral researcher at Heidelberg University between 1990-1991, at the University of Kentucky between 1997-1998, and at RWTH-Aachen between 1998-1999. Since 1997, he has been serving as a full professor in the same department. His research interests are Asymmetric Synthesis, Organocatalysis, Biocatalysis, Homogenous chiral and achiral catalyst design and synthesis Conducting polymer synthesis. He has graduated many graduate students and has over 100 scientific publications.
