Biography
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Çağatay Dengiz received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees from the Department of Chemistry at Middle East Technical University (METU) in 2010 and 2011, respectively. He completed his Ph.D. studies between 2012 and 2015 at ETH Zurich in the Department of Chemistry and Applied Biosciences in Switzerland. From 2016 to 2018, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Chemistry at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). In 2018, he returned to his home country under the TÜBİTAK “2232 Reintegration Research Fellowship Program” and started working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry at METU. Since 2023, he has been serving as an Associate Professor in the same department. Through his research, he has been honored with prestigious awards such as the TÜBA-GEBİP Outstanding Young Scientist Award (2022), the Science Academy BAGEP Award (2024), and the Prof. Dr. Mustafa N. Parlar Education and Research Foundation Research Incentive Award (2024). Dr. Çağatay Dengiz continues his work on the highly efficient synthesis of functional materials via click-type reactions.
